Director, Quality and Security Engineering
San Antonio, Texas Area
Jim is a Director of Quality and Security Engineering at Rackspace. Jim has successfully built a team of specialized security engineers that is part of the development, quality, and delivery process at Rackspace. Jim felt that the best way to interconnect and ensure security testing was done correctly was to move security testing away from Corporate Security and move it into the quality organization. This new paradigm has melded the developer, quality, and security professional into one role that has become instrumental in the SDLC process. The results has proven successful through more secure deployments of products and tools. Our customers demand and expect OpenStack to release products that function, perform, and are built securely. This is were quality testing becomes an important part of the SDLC - by ensuring OpenStack products exceed our customers expectations.

Jim has spent the last 23 years working in the security field. He began his career in the military during the personal computer explosion. Jim is highly passionate about testing and has gained a plethora of experience by working with many fortune 500 private companies, government agencies, environmental and nuclear engineering firms, and consulting for federal clients.
