Marcio Silva received both his B.S., Master’s degrees in electrical engineering and PhD degree in computer engineering from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. He joined the Computer Networks and Architecture Laboratory at the University of São Paulo in 2004, as an associate researcher. He is currently a senior software engineer in the Data Center systems software group in IBM Research Division in Yorktown Heights, NY. He has published 15 journal and conference papers, as well as one book chapter. His research interests include virtualization, cloud management, systems benchmarking and distributed systems.
